Mazda BT-50 is available with two engine options in Malaysia, the common rail diesel, which is producing a total output of 150 PS and it has a peak torque of 375 Nm available between 1,500 rpm and 2,500 rpm and a larger 3.2 liter five-cylinder diesel unit, generating 200 PS and 470 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm to 2,500 rpm. For the smaller engine, either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission is available, while the 3.2L is only getting the automatic gearbox.
Mazda says that the BT-50 is 5,365 mm long, 1,850 mm wide and it rides on a 3,220 mm wheelbase, which is almost identical to the Ford Range R6. The Japanese truck has other parts shared with the German vehicle, but in the cabin this time. The base entry-level version of the Mazda BT-50 can now be bought in Malaysia from RM89,841.60 for the 2.2 MT, while the 3.2 is available from RM107,051.75, on the road with insurance.
